Homestay is a good option to enjoy a place as it gives local flavor and authenticity of that destination. These are value for money options while not compromising on quality of a decent accommodation option. In Goa, one can get varieties of homestays in form of villas, heritage homes, guest rooms, etc. and all these are very good way of knowing the Goan culture and tradition closely. My favourite are Goan Heritage Homestays.. Ok, so should you choose a homestay, I would say of course why not? when you get best of the facilities and comfort along with a feel of local culture and flavour. Again budget varies depending upon location and type of homestay, but you will get a decent one starting from INR 1200 only (with AC)..some even offer basic breakfast option included. Another benefit I found is, while interacting with the owner of the homestay, you discover lot of hidden stories and unknown facts about the place/destination. That’s always a plus for me.
